The Village offers a Logic and Debate Club for homeschool students in middle and high school, serving families in Greenville, Anderson, and surrounding Upstate communities.
This club is designed to help students strengthen their thinking, communication, and argument skills in a fun and engaging way.
Students will learn how to:
Form logical arguments
Think critically about different perspectives
Organize and present their ideas clearly
Support opinions with reasoning and evidence
These are skills that benefit students not only academically, but in real-life situations as well.
Throughout the year, students will participate in group discussions, practice structured debates, and explore a variety of topics and viewpoints.
The focus is on learning how to think and communicate, not just “winning” an argument.
At the end of the year, students will participate in a final debate event, where:
Students present their arguments
Other co-op students can listen and engage
The audience helps decide the winners
This creates a fun, interactive experience that encourages confidence and participation.
This will club will be offered after regular co-op hours at Erin's home. Parents are welcome to stay for coffee and visiting time with other co-op parents.
Fee: $25
Minimum: 4 students in each grade level (elementary, middle/high)
